Fokana President’s Message
Dear Friends
I am extremely privileged to have been elected as the President of FOKANA for the year 2024-26 term. Our team comprises 56 elected officials dedicated to serving the community. FOKANA was established about 41 years ago with support from pioneers like the then-Indian Ambassador K. R. Narayanan, who later became the President of India. It serves as the parent organization for Malayalee associations in the USA and Canada.
FOKANA continues to maintain strong relations with the Government of Kerala and other official entities at both state and central levels, including the Indian Embassies in the US and Canada. We also address common issues that affect Indian expatriates residing abroad.
The 2024-26 Committee has decided to implement 22 unique projects that directly benefit North American Malayalees and Keralites. Major projects include the FOKANA Health Clinic, FOKANA Women’s Forum, FOKANA Medical Card, FOKANA Club Card, FOKANA Youth Club Project 100, FOKANA Sports Academy, Malayalam Academy, FOKANA Village in Kerala, FOKANA Business Forum, FOKANA Speech Club, and FOKANA International Conventions.
This year’s committee consists of professionals from various fields, aiming to accomplish multiple projects that benefit the Indian community. FOKANA is a non-partisan organization and, as such, will not engage in political affairs within the US or India.
FOKANA is also proactive in organizing charity events to benefit underprivileged populations in both India and the US. The FOKANA Foundation is the designated entity within the organization that focuses on charitable programs. FOKANA is the pioneer and the biggest umbrella association for Malayalees in the world.
I appreciate the entire Malayalee community for its continued support of this prestigious organization. We will continue our efforts to serve the expatriate population living in the US and Canada.
Sincerely
Sajimon Antony
President,
FOKANA 2024-26
